Roots-Origins | by Valerie Freeman
Valerie Freeman’s figurative sculptures, known for their flowing contraposto gestures will be taught in a step-by-step manner. Participants will review a basic understanding of human anatomy, working with a live model through quick-sketching on paper and clay maquettes. Students will learn how to abstractly compose, design and engineer the human form while experimenting with ceramic clay textured slabs.
Possible approaches for staining or glazing the works, after they have been bisque-fired, will be discussed.
